Limited STD Testing & Treatment

If you are sexually active, you may be at risk of contracting a sexually transmitted disease (STD). Many women are unaware of whether they are infected because they do not experience any symptoms or mistake their symptoms as something else. Your sexual health is a priority at My Life Clinic, so we offer free limited STD testing and treatment for men and women who qualify through the state. If you think you might have an STD, please reach out to us to schedule an appointment today.

What are we testing for?

Testing for STDs is readily and widely available for men and women who qualify. These tests use a urine sample to determine if you are carrying one of these diseases. These tests are able to test for two common STDs:

  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhea

Both Chlamydia and Gonorrhea are treatable through medication and should be addressed by a medical professional if the test comes up positive.

Why should I get tested?

While many STDs have cures or can be treated, they can be extremely dangerous if left untreated. Some potential risks of an untreated STD include:

  • Pelvic Inflammatory disease
  • Infecting others
  • Infertility

If you are pregnant and have an untreated STD, there are additional complications. This includes an increased risk for:

  • Miscarriage
  • Premature birth
  • Stillbirth

How can we help?

At My Life Clinic, we can offer a free follow up appointment to discuss your test results. In the case of a positive result, we have limited resources to help treat you or can refer you to other resources to treat you for the STD.

We will also address ways to reduce your future risk of contracting an STD. If you are sexually active and want to learn more about the risks and treatment options for STDs, make an appointment at My Life Clinic today.
