What are we testing for?

If you are sexually active, you may be at risk of contracting a sexually transmitted disease (STD). Many individuals are unaware of whether they are infected because they do not experience symptoms or mistake their symptoms for something else.

Testing for STDs is readily and widely available for qualified men and women. Our tests use a urine sample to test for two of the most common STIs and determine if you contracted one of the following:

  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhea

Chlamydia and Gonorrhea are treatable through medication regimens and should be addressed by a medical professional if the test comes up positive.

STDs are not treatable with home remedies and will not go away on their own, even if you aren’t experiencing symptoms. Only testing confirms if you have an STD.

Why should I get tested?

While many STDs have cures or can be medically treated, they can be extremely dangerous if left untreated.

Some potential risks of an untreated STD include:

  • Pelvic Inflammatory disease, which may lead to infertility
  • Infecting others
  • Certain cancers

There are additional complications if you are pregnant and have an untreated STD. Complications include an increased risk for:

  • Miscarriage
  • Premature birth
  • Stillbirth
  • Passing STDs to unborn children
