How Do Pregnancy Tests Work?
Home pregnancy tests detect the presence of the human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) hormone, an important pregnancy hormone.
For an accurate result, you must allow time for your body to build up enough hCG for it to be detected in urine tests, such as home-pregnancy tests. If you take a pregnancy test too early, a false negative may result.
You will be asked to provide a urine sample during a pregnancy test appointment in our clinic. One of our trained staff members will then test this urine sample to detect the presence of hCG.

When Should I Take a Pregnancy Test?
While home pregnancy tests have improved over the years, there are still many factors that could contribute to you receiving an inaccurate result at home. Things that may affect your results are:

What If My Pregnancy Test Comes Back Positive?
After a positive pregnancy test in our clinic, an appointment will be scheduled for a free, confidential ultrasound by one of our ultrasound technicians.
An ultrasound will allow you to confirm the pregnancy, determine how far along the pregnancy is, and ensure that the pregnancy is located in the uterus and is viable.
